The newest version of the A.D. Cook Art site is live!

If you ever visit the website you may have noticed that it has been a bit neglected. Actually, it was a mess, and way more of a mess than I even realized. The site was compromised through a plugin hack a while back, and as I went through the site with fresh eyes, it became apparent that my art website needed a complete redesign. In truth, I've known that for some time, but since the website's original launch in 1996 it has grown so big that I knew whether I fixed the old site or built a new one that the project was gonna be epic. Just thinking about it was exhausting - lol.

Still, it had to be done. So, even though I was still kind of fond of the existing version, it was built in 2011 or 2012 and had run its course. It was time to roll up the sleeves and start clicking.

As we like to say here... all that's left is everything.

Preparation is Everything

So, with that in mind, I dug in, one click at a time, starting with a full backup of the old site, a WordPress install on a new server, ASTRA Pro Theme install and setup, then Elementor Pro, Yoast Premium, and a few other needed plugins for the artworks portfolio and site speed performance. I'm simplifying it a bit, but that was essentially my palette and steps to create a new website. That, along with Photoshop, images, and content. Fortunately, I was able to glean and reverse-engineer the old site for much of that.

Now ready to share with the world, the all-new features 140+ artworks on canvas and metal, created by hand with traditional media and tools.
pencils, airbrushes, and assorted power tools; with paint, clay, and mixed media.

Not to say that it's done, because websites are never (or very rarely) ever done, per se. The website is updated often and includes current information on the LUSTER: Realism and Hyperrealism in Contemporary Automotive and Motorcycle Paintings exhibition and upcoming gallery shows in Las Vegas and beyond featuring A.D. Cook artworks.

The new was created in WordPress with the ASTRA Pro Theme and Elementor Pro plugin.
